About Gamble and Ghevaert LLP
Gamble and Ghevaert LLP is the only specialist fertility and parenting law firm in the UK. We have a pre-eminent reputation as the UK's leading experts in this cutting edge, fast moving and complex area of law, and offer exceptional client service, unrivalled years of practical experience, and an unmatched public, media and political profile.
Our partners

Our founding partners are Natalie Gamble and Louisa Ghevaert, both internationally recognised legal experts in UK fertility and parenting law.
Natalie Gamble pioneered fertility law in the UK, having struggled to find legal advice when building her own family through donor conception. She is a high profile figure who has helped win groundbreaking legal rights for same sex parents and been heralded by the Independent on Sunday's Pink List 2010 as the 25th most influential gay woman in Britain. In February 2010, Natalie was invited to meet the Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street in recognition of her work.
Louisa Ghevaert is internationally recognised as a leading expert in UK fertility and parenting law, and has over a decade of experience of complex family and children law. Louisa was invited as a fertility law expert speaker and adviser to the American Bar Association's national conference in Montreal in 2009 and is recommended globally by assisted reproduction lawyers. She is a widely published and respected author on fertility and parenting law in leading publications, is an accomplished public speaker and advises and lobbies Parliamentary and political circles.
Natalie and Louisa have acted in many of the UK's leading fertility law cases including Re X and Y (the first UK case to ratify a commercial international surrogacy arrangement) and the Gladwin embryo case (which triggered important changes to embryo storage law). Natalie also represented Andy Bathie, the sperm donor famously pursued by the CSA for maintenance payments.
What makes us different?
We are the only solicitors in the UK with significant and sustained experience of UK and international surrogacy, donor conception and co-parenting, fertility treatment/ embryo law, and parenting involving same sex parents and other non-traditional families. Our cutting edge work puts us at the forefront of challenging traditional concepts of family law, both in non-contentious situations, in court and in Parliament. We provide expert advice to clients from all over the world (including high profile individuals) and work closely with all the leading organisations in the fertility sector, including Stonewall, COTS, Surrogacy UK, the Donor Conception Network, Infertility Network UK and Fertility Friends (see our 'What People Say About Us' page).
We also pride ourselves on our difference of approach. We cater for a diverse range of families, including gay and lesbian couples, single women, single men, and married and unmarried couples. A far cry from what you might expect from traditional lawyers, we are approachable, open-minded and sensitive, and have a strong positive focus on helping people (who have often suffered great adversity) to build and protect their families. Our years of practical experience working in the sector have given us a wealth of know-how, and with a completely impartial perspective we are ideallly placed to help clients explore all their family building options (see our Baby Planning Service page).
We are passionate about what we do which is why we have created a leading online resource in our website, which provides a vast amount of free information and advice about fertility and parenting law and aims to encourage debate and discussion. We also campaign relentlessly, both publicly and behind the scenes, for improvements to the law and policy which will benefit fertility patients and modern and alternative families (see our Public Service Work page).
As well as helping individuals, we work with professionals in the fertility and alternative family sectors and public authorities, providing expert advice, training, help with patient materials and consultancy (see our Services for Professionals page).
